There are currently four Danganronpa games:

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Characters
The first Danganronpa game sees the player control Makoto Naegi (a high school student from Hope's Peak Academy's 78th grade). Monokuma, the game's villain, traps Makoto Naegi and 15 other students in a deadly game of wits. Students must kill another student to escape and not be voted the killer in class trials.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Characters
Danganronpa 2 – Goodbye Despair is a 2012 visual novel adventure video game. This is the second installment in the Danganronpa series, following Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc (2010). Hajime Hinata (the protagonist) and 15 students from class 77-B are on a school trip to a tropical island. Monokuma again traps them in a deadly game. To escape from the island, students must kill another student and avoid being caught during class trials.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Characters
Spike Chunsoft published Danganronpa V3 Killing Harmony, a visual novel mystery video game. The game was released in Japan on January 17, 2017, for PlayStation 4 (and PlayStation Vita), and in North America, Europe, and North America by NIS America in September 2017. On the same day, a self-published Microsoft Windows version was released globally. A revised version of V3 is being planned with the anniversary edition subtitle for the Nintendo Switch, Android, and worldwide iOS releases.
The third game is a repeat of the first, following Shuichi Saihara and Kaede Akamatsu. They were kidnapped by the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and placed in a killing game. This game's killing game is known as the Killing School Semester. Monokuma is now a partner in the crime, but a five-member group, called the Monokuma Kubs, has been formed.

What is Danganronpa?
The premise of all three core games is the same. 16 high-achieving high school students are locked in a series of killing games. Each game has a different set of characters trapped in an establishment. To escape from the establishment, they must kill another student and not be found during class trials.
The games can be divided into two different gameplay styles. The first is School Life, where the player moves through the story. The second is Class Trials in which the player must expose the murderer.
There are two sections to the School Life gameplay: Daily Life, where the player advances into the story, and Deadly Life, which activates when the crime scene is discovered.
Daily Life features dating sims, while Deadly Life requires that the player investigate the crime scene to find clues and evidence.
Are Danganronpa characters minors?
Although the characters of Dangaronpa appear to be minors, they entered Hope's Peak at 16 and had 2+ years of forgotten memories which would have made them 18+. All students are likely to be adults. While this seems true for the first two games of the series, there isn't any clear information regarding the third.
Are Danganronpa characters Asian?
Most Dangaronpa characters, especially those from Japan, are Asian. Sonia, who is from Europe, and Angie, who might be an ex-resident on a fictional island, are the only exceptions.
