Practice, practice, practice. Fortnite is all about practicing and then putting into… practice everything you learned. Fornite can be split into three individual skill sets, which you must meddle together. These skill sets are aiming, building, and editing. In my mind, becoming a decent Fortnite player takes at least 6 months of constant practicing in Fortnite Aim courses and Fortnite Building & Editing courses while also playing Battle Royale & Arena Solos, Duos, Trios & Squads.
I don't know if the cute graphics fools you, but Fortnite takes a lot of time to master. A lot of boring time even. It's no surprise that the top esports players in the world are paid so well, and Fortnite players even more so. Even following the action when watching a live stream can challenge a novice.
This post does not aim to teach you how to become an excellent Fortnite player. However, one way of getting better at a game is imitation. Not just by playing the same game modes but also by studying what pro Fortnite players do.
So this post is about the gaming mice and keyboards Fortnite pros use because the gear is essential in competitive games.
Even more so, this guide is about their mouse sensitivity settings and keybindings. You can also find cross-game mouse sensitivity settings converters.
I will list the settings and gear used by some of the best players globally, and I will explain how they helped me find my own best keybindings so that I can start getting used to them and eventually become a better player.
Let's get started, then.

Bugha's Fortnite Keybindings
His building key bindings are very similar to the default key bindings of the game. I'm impressed by anyone who can play with these bindings, especially when they can become a world champion, as I find it very hard, and you have to use your thumb and pointer while moving around with the other three fingers.
I have no idea how much practice it takes, but he can play with these amazingly.
[Faze Clan] Mongraal
Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson is a Fortnite esports player, currently a player for FaZe Clan Europe. Mongraal is one of the best European players in Fortnite and one of my favorites too.
Mongraal's Mouse
Mongraal uses a Logitech G402 mouse. This is the most affordable mouse you will find on this list.
- High-Speed Tracking: Fusion engine delivers one of the highest gaming mouse tracking speeds of up to 500 IPS
- Eight Programmable Buttons: Customise your Logitech wired gaming mouse and enjoy default configuration straight out of the box or set up one-button triggers personal to you and save them to your G402 USB gaming mouse

Mongraal's Mouse Settings
I'm always impressed when people use the same targeting and scope sensitivity, but I haven't played Fortnite with a gaming mouse yet.
Mongraal's Keyboard
Mongraal uses the Steelseries Apex Pro KTL keyboard (just like Bugha above).

Mongraal's Keybindings
Mongraal is an awesome builder, but as you can see, he builds with the mouse. He also plays with tilted keyboard positioning. This requires some ambidexterity as he uses both hands in full force while building. One massive benefit of this approach, contrary to others, is that he can use Q and X for fast weapon 4 & 5 swaps. That's pretty neat!
[Faze Clan] Nate Hill
Nate Hill is a full-time Twitch streamer for Faze Clan
Nate Hill's Mouse
Nate Hill uses a Finalmouse Air58 Ninja CBR Edition mouse.
Nate Hill's Mouse Settings
I'm always impressed when people use the same targeting and scope sensitivity, but I haven't played Fortnite with a gaming mouse yet.
Nate Hill's Keyboard
Nate Hill uses the Steelseries Apex Pro KTL keyboard. Steelseries is one of Faze Clan's sponsors, so all the team's players use this keyboard (as far as I know).

Nate Hill's Keybindings
As you can see, Nate Hill is a keyboard builder, and I think his keybindings are among the most sensible and easiest to grab on this list. How good you can become using them is a different story.
[TSM] Myth
More commonly known as Myth or TSM Myth, Ali Kabbani is an American Twitch streamer and professional Fortnite Battle Royale player. As of December 2020, he is among the most popular streamers on Twitch with over 7 million followers and over 127 million views.
Myth's Mouse
Myth uses a more affordable Logitech G703 mouse.
- LIGHTSPEED Wireless Technology: In high pressure moments, latency can be the difference between winning it all or losing. With millions on the line, esports professionals around the world depend on LIGHTSPEED wireless technology
- PMW3366 Gaming Optical Sensor: Widely regarded by esports professionals and gaming enthusiasts as the best gaming mouse sensor on the market, PMW3366 has zero smoothing, filtering, or acceleration across the entire DPI range (200 12,000DPI)

Myth's Mouse Settings
Higher targeting sensitivity than scope sensitivity. That's a unique one.
Myth's Keyboard

Myth's Fortnite Keybinds
Myth is another great builder; his settings seem natural to me. He builds both with the mouse and the keyboard, and Q is awesome for fast wall building (I use Q too). I would expect him to use E and the Mouse Button 5 for the stairs and floor, but instead, he uses the default C for stair building and the mouse button to build floors. He utilizes fast weapon switching with his mouse wheel up and down buttons.
[Luminosity Gaming] Nick Eh 30

Nick Eh 30's Fortnite Keybinds
His building key bindings are close to the default ones, but his weapon switches and harvesting tool ones are so… confusing. Once again I'm impressed.
[Featured] Tfue
Turner Tenney (born January 2, 1998), better known by his online alias Tfue, is an American streamer and esports player best known for playing Fortnite.
- Birthday: January 2, 1998
- Place of Birth: Florida, USA
- Full Name: Turner Tenney
Tfue's Mouse
Tfue uses a Finalmouse Custom mouse.
- Starlight-12 Magnesium Chassis with Ultem Base
- The Magnesium Chassis can slightly vary in thickness due to the manufacturing processes & complexities involved. Therefor the weight of each individual mouse may vary by +- 2 grams. Final assembled weight including battery/feet/screws/paint/coating is ~42 grams for Small and ~47 grams for medium
- The bottom of the mouse is made of Ultem NOT magnesium for the purposes of allowing the wireless signal to escape. It is therefor not as strong as magnesium and should not be squeezed or strength tested as one could with the sides or top of the mouse
- The Finalsensor is designed to go into various stages of rest mode after being in idle for set periods of time. Testing the mouse from a standstill if the mouse is in a rest mode will not reflect the accurate latency performance of the mouse Finalsensor is an industry leading flawless esports sensor with a Resolution (cpi) of up to 20,000. And an IPS of ~450+ with integrated illumination. You can expect next gen performance

Tfue's Keyboard
Tfue uses a Taeha Types Keycult No. 1/60 keyboard.
Tfue's Fortnite Keybinds
Tfue's keybindings make a lot of sense to me, and I based mine upon keys. The only thing that confuses me is why Tfue still uses C for building instead of sticking to all the upper-row buttons (let's say Q, E, and R, which I have).
He knows better, of course, and he uses the mouse only for the Trap and the icing on the cake (the roof). I consider these settings the first “human” ones in this list.
[Luminosity Gaming] SypherPK
Born Ali Hassan on 10 May 1996 (happy Sypher, today is May the 10th), in Austin, Texas, USA, known as SypherPK, he is a 25-year-old American professional gamer, streamer, YouTuber, and online personality.
SypherPK's Mouse
SypherPK uses a Razer Viper Ultimate mouse.
- Ultra-Fast Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Technology Faster than wired gaming mice: With a high-speed transmission, extremely low latency, and seamless frequency switching in the noisiest environments, you won't even realize that you're gaming with a wireless mouse
- Razer Focus+ 20K Optical Sensor For cutting-edge precision: A 20,000 DPI sensor with 99.6 percent resolution accuracy ensures that even the finest movement of your mouse is tracked, giving you an acute level of precision for game-winning headshots and highly elusive maneuvers
- 74 g Lightweight - Designed for Esports For swifter, controlled swipes: The Razer Viper Ultimate is the lightest wireless gaming mouse making no compromise on strength with its true ambidextrous form factor. Its optimal weight is designed for faster and smoother control
- Razer Optical Mouse Switch For actuation at the speed of light: Every click you make is actuated at the speed of light with no debounce delay, so you'll always be the first to pull the trigger. The switches are also durable for up to 70 million clicks
- Up to 70 Hours of Battery Life For non-stop gaming: Improved wireless power efficiency keeps it running at peak performance for up to 70 continuous hours—charge it once a week to power 10 hours of daily gameplay

SypherPK's Fortnite Keybinds
SypherPK splits his building between the keyboard and the mouse, but like Mongraal, his primary focus is the mouse. His weapon switch bindings are a beautiful mess that would confuse me for all eternity.

Ninja's Fortnite Keybinds
Ninja is immensely successful and has the most followers on Twitch as of May 2021. He strikes the perfect balance between the mouse and the keyboard in building (50/50), and well… Weapon slots 4 and 5 are closer to our fingers than numbers 4 and 5. Seems pretty solid.
