Unfortunately, the answer to this question is no. Although Elden Ring's online features are quite entertaining, the game doesn't offer cross platform support. Thus, if you want to ask a friend or a player you don't know for help against a boss you're having trouble with, they'll have to play the game on the same platform as you.
How do online features work if Elden Ring doesn't have cross-platform support? As you know, From Software has made a very bold decision in its new game and made the game's map an open world. You can roam the huge map of Lands Between at will during the game. Of course, there's a way to finish the main story, but you can do that after 50 hours if you want. The note system you know from previous Souls games also accompanies this freedom. When you play Elden Ring online, you can see the notes that other players have left in your own world. Or bloodstains that other players have died from. You can even invite other players to your world and ask them to help you with a boss you can't get past.
Is this also the case between consoles? Elden Ring supports the different console generations. This means that players of Playstation 5 and Playstation 4 can play simultaneously if they want to. The same goes for the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X|S. The only platform that's doomed to be alone is PC.
